6 Baba Jobe Loyalists Arrested In LRD
by Sulayman Sowe – Daily Observer
Six people, said to be loyalists to Baba Jobe and members of the defunct 22
July Movement, have been arrested.
The six, Seedy Sanneh, Faburama Ceesay of Pakaliba, Ismaila Darboe of Bureng,
Lamin Fofana of Sankwia, Jerry Sonko of Kiang Jiffin and Lang Marong of Jarra
Soma are said to have been in custody for over three days.
They are known for their spirited involvement in the banned 22 July Movement
and were identified as close associates of Mr Jobe.
According to a source close to the arrested men, they were randomly picked up
at various locations and their whereabouts are still unknown to their
families.
Contacted for comment, police spokesman Supt Jallow said the six men were
"part of those who went for [military] training in Libya [Mataba]" and the police
were questioning them in that regard. He confirmed that they have been in
custody since Friday.
