Hi Ken,

I knew what you where saying - we must have had the same spelling teacher - Grin. Actually, getting custody of her was fairly simple. What was next to impossible was getting the county to take responisibilty for her - that how I got her - it was easier to get custody of her than get her in foster care with me as the foster home. Then I could have adopted her this year. But the county would have had to pay me - they much perferred I just get custody her and leave them out. Her lawyer - guardian ad litem - took care of everything, both parents signed her over to me - both refused to pay any kind of child support. The lawyer was free, in fact the whole process was free for me - sure the county paid the bill. The lawyer did one 1 home visit and found it a nice but small home. The kids and I hooted over that. I couldn't even claim her on taxes last year! Alex is doing really well, no more bed wetting, she lost some weight, and we got thru the "terrible two's" - lasted about month and half - we have family counseling and individual consueling. She took 11th grade English in summer school - made a 98 - so now is is a senior just like Amber, and she is finally less velcored to Amber and me. For awhile she was just like a baby about letting me out of sight. As soon as I wnet in my room and closed the door - she was there knocking to see if I was there, and would so every half hour - but slowly she is getting over being abandoned and knowing I won't leave. Told her she was stuck with me thru her grandchrildren at least. GRIN.
