I got bagged by that little feature the other day.  I have my call stored
in the message that is displayed when you first turn the radio on.  I also
have a few other settings set to their non-defaults, and when I loaded just
the memories, all other options were set to their defaults.  It's not a big
thing, but you might be surprised if you're not expecting it.
