The Keynote Gold Multimedia, which is what you have, is a software
synthesizer. Unfortunately, you need the installation diskette to install
it on a new computer. There are only three installations per
diskette. You can move the installation key to your desktop, but then you
won't have it on your laptop. Perhaps your friend has the installation
diskette. Incidentally, it is the only software speech that will also work
in a DOS box. You have to run a driver from your DOS screen-reader to make
it work, but it works fine. Unfortunately, Keynote Gold Multimedia doesn't
work under Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
