The yellow exclamation point means it is not properly installed. You need to highlight it and remove it in device manager so you can start over. After you do that shut your computer down to complete the uninstall. Physically unplug the scanner and restart the computer to finish removing the previous install. Shut down again and install the scanner again per the instructions. Check the manufacturer's web site for an updated driver before you begin a new install.
>I can't get my scanner to work sometimes....I have to try several times which each time this message comes up "can't to device or driver not installed." and then one time it might work. I have WinXP and I have a SCSI flatbed scanner which was used on my first computer Win98. I opened Device Manager and see the scanner with a yellow circle and exclamation mark in it. Could you please tell me what that means?
