However, as my neighbour Mike McNeil pointed out, these gizmos are available
here at an electronics chain store, so I'll invest in one.
When I originally posted my query, I wasn't even aware that it's possible to
run a laptop drive in a regular machine. So the exercise has been most
informative!
PS - As I trim the originals I can see my latest antivirus program's
signature on the mail. I must give it a rap - it's an excellent app. It's
been newly re-configured and it's fast, efficient and deadly to bugs, one of
the best available, according to AV testing labs.
