Hi Maddalena,
I believe avoiding acidic veggies is supposed to help, however, have you
looked into getting rid of IBS? From what I understand IBS is nothing but
messed up flora and bacteria - as in too much of the bad stuff and too
little of the good stuff. EAting paleo should help, but you may want to
supplement with some good probiotics for a while. Also, virgin coconut oil
might help although it's probably not really considered paleo.
You may also want to try and supplement with Betaine HCl. About 5 doctors
told me I have IBS and tried to get me to take Zelnorm or other meds which I
didn't. Then I started supplementing with HCl and I feel great - absolutly
NO IBS symptoms after eating.
For the depression just eating paleo should help. Also do some searches on
5-HTP and depression. I know true paleos don't supplement, but it could be a
transition to get off the anti-depressants and then taper off the 5-HTP.
Dealing with IBS in itself could cause one to be depressed.
