My kids LOVE pumpkin.  They like it with warm with butter (not paleo, though) and honey, but they will eat plain cooked pumpkin with gusto.  There are a few good recipes out there for pumpkin soup; basically chicken broth and pureed pumpkin with some seasoning.

Interesting that Colonial American families ate cooked pumpkin, in a sort of
pudding, as a main dish at dinner. At that time, pumpkin was considered a
vegetable.

Now, it is used in the U.S. mainly as dessert. I need to think about using
it as veg.
