We do have to keep it hooked to the phone line. You do have to trust TIVO
when they say they won't collect data on individuals although they do
collect data on subscribers as a whole. It's like being hooked to Internet,
someone is always keeping track of where you are going.

Do they insist you keep it plugged into the phone socket (so that it can
"phone home" with the valuaable data of what you have watched!!)
