That's a good question, Kyle, because I do vacilate about our
President. Since the major part of combat in Iraq is over, he has seemed to become
more evangelical.
The is an underpinning of fundementalistic religiosity in him and Ashcroft
which bothers me. You pit fundemantal Christians against fundemental Muslims and
that could get nasty. What's worse is that you are correct about the Dems in
disarray.
The Dems are no check to GWB's popularity. This could lead to an unfettered
fundementalism. The only thing which might check GWB is the economy. I don't
know if I mentioned it on the list, but on an Addictive Medicine list I am on,
there was a discuss (an entire professional article) comparing Bush to a "dry
drunk". The term is used frequently in 12 step parlance, but is poorly define,
but one hallmark is a kind of fanaticism. Basically it is a person who does
not drink, but engages in "drunk" behavior. Such is the now aiming of our
national wrath at Iran and the WMD mess. What's more, except for Powell, most of his
cabinet are like GWB.

This is why he concerns me.
