I sent this as a reply, and it only went to Jason for some reason. I'm
going to send it again so the whole list can use the info if they'd like
to.
I'll edit it down so it won't be as long as the message I sent to Jason

Jason,

My wife had an adult trike that she used when she was in high school,
living in Iowa, that they got through a Schwinn dealer. I'm not sure
how well they do with kids models for those that no longer want a
"little kids trike," but aren't quite ready for an adult trike.

.....I'm not sure you are in Kansas though (Toto, I don't think we're in
Kansas anymore?), so you might also check with your state AT project, if
you're in a state that still has one (the federal funding for those
projects was on a ten year life span, and some have already sunsetted).
A web site that has a directory of those projects is
http://www.resna.org/taproject/at/statecontacts , or you may want to
check with your state's University Center of Excellence for
Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). The national Association for that,
AUCD, has a website also, www.AUCD.org. The link to their directory of
state projects is: http://www.aucd.org/aucd_aboutuce.htm.

I found 49 matches when I did a quick search on AbleData. AbleData is a
fairly exhaustive online listing of all kinds of assistive technology
products. The URL for AbleData is: http://www.abledata.com.

I won't include the search results, since it was literally 49 pages,
because of the way it paginates,

Subject: Need a special tricycle

Hello all-
Can anyone direct me to a distributor of tricycles that are designed
with a
hemiplegic in mind? My 6 yr old is hypotone and mild left hemiplegic.
The
main problem is the stregnth to do the alternating feet pedaling,
keeping
the feet on the pedals. Keeping the left hand on the handle, and
controlled
turning of the handle bars. She want to do it but you can see that she
is
starting to avoid them. Since everyone else her age and younger are
doing
this already it is now another thing that is excluding her from social
play.
Sure do appreciate any leads or anecdotal suggestions..

Thanks a bunch

Jason K
