Sorry, but I don't think you'll find it easy to locate a ranch that has a
finished steer of market size just standing around. Nowadays most beef
producers I know of merely raise and sell the calfs into the "grain-fed"
operators who actually finish them (ie., feed them to market size). If you
want a market size animal from a rancher/farmer, you'll probably be looking
for a cull dairy cow or a dairy steer rather than a "beef" type bovine.
Ask around for local ranchers that raise beef steers to market size before
you go hitching up your trailers.
