As described in the above-referenced link, the
difference between the potassium alum found in crystal
deodorants and aluminum chlorhydrate or aluminum
zirconium used in other brands, is that potassium alum
is not absorbed into the system, whereas the compounds
aluminum chlorhydrate or aluminum zirconium can be
absorbed.
