Hi Fran;
I'd never heard of glowing fish, so the statement caught my attention. (I
listen to the gov't approved drivel with half an ear.)
Maybe one of the learned persons (biology?) on this list could answer your
question.
 I've emailed the CBC, sometimes get an answer.
