Abdoulie, I see and kind of understand where you and Ousman are coming from. Yes you can argue that Jammeh does have the power to hire and fire any member of his administration. The ethical question here is how this power tends to be abused. All terminations can be twisted to look like a desired reason and this is the fine line President Jammeh is faced with. Unfortunately being an opposition in the Gambia always results to speaking against the government regardless of the issue and what they do. Can President Jammeh improve? Most definitely, but lets also face it, he is TRYING.

displayed by some people on this list. It seems that one is only considered
objective if one speaks against the Jammeh government. I do believe that
Ousman have a good point by saying that Jammeh reserves the right to hire
or fire any member of his administration so long as it is not politically
influenced. This is clearly stated in the constitution that Gambians voted
for. Afterall, if we dire hold Jammeh responsible for the way he administer
the affairs of the country, then why can't we let him decide on who he
wishes to administer it with.
I hope we continue to ponder on this issue with objective and unbiased
minds. Simply because you oppose an administration doesn't mean you should
speak against any constitutionally mandated issue.
