Right Icelander, wrong author!  My mistake, I fear. :-(  It was Sigrid Undset, a Dane, not Icelandic.

One of my fave trilogies was written by a Icelander. but I can't
remember his name for the life of me - it was a series centering around
this medieval Iceland woman name Kaarin (something)dottir. I want to say
it won the Nobel Prize for Literature one year. Gah, I wish my memory
were better!

If Asdis is still on this list perhaps she'll know what I'm talking
about. :-)
