Institute invite you to two special events this weekend.

>First, Prof Sam Mchombo, Assoc Professor of Linguistics at the University
of California-Berkeley will be presenting the first of this summer's
special Sandwich Seminars. He will be talking about "Language and Politics
in Malawi" at noon tomorrow [Friday, June 16] in 336 Ingraham.

>Second, SCALI will be hosting its welcoming picnic this Sunday, June 19th,
from 11:30am - 4:30pm at Brittingham Park [at the intersection of West
Washington and Park Streets, on Lake Monona]. Drinks, grills, and music by
Kweku Anansi and the Sweet Vibrations will be provided - you bring a dish
to pass and any sports gear to play with.
