Hi, Fredrik. I had breast cancer 3 1/2 yrs. ago, but have been on a paleo
or semi-paleo diet for about 9 years (can't remember exactly).
There are so many factors that go into the many types of cancer that I don't
believe diet alone will prevent or cure cancer. That said, many things
about the paleo diet are very helpful in keeping cancer under control or
staving it off.
Some of the most important aspects of paleo diet re. cancer prevention are:
no sugar, no dairy, no caffeine and high intake of fresh vitamin-rich foods.
The hormonal cancers - breast and prostate - are very sensitive to dairy;
all cancers seem to be encouraged to grow by sugar, i.e., cancer cells have
11 times more sugar receptors than normal cells. If you want to prevent
getting cancer in the first place, I think a paleo diet is a good start,
although I'm not convinced that a lot of sat fat is entirely safe in certain
cancers.
