I didn't think about the diet and cage issues. I'll ask and report back. Let
me see if I can find the link for those interested:

Here's the answer about their living conditions:
Q. What Size of Pen do they Require
A... APX. 50'X150' IS O.K. THEY NEED ENOUGH ROOM TO RUN AS IT IS VERY
IMPORTANT THEY HAVE SPACE TO RUN, THEY LOVE TO RUN AND TWIRL AROUND AND
DANCE, WE PROVIDE MOST OF OUR BREEDERS WITH 1/2 TO 3/4 ACRE FOR THEIR PEN.
THIS IS AT OUR WEST BREED BARN, THESE PENS ARE AROUND 1/2 TO 3/4 ACRES AND
WE HAVE A TRIO IN EACH PEN (2 HENS AND 1 ROOSTER) . We are also running some
quads.
Me again. No word on diet, but they do sell feed. So, I dunno. Will ask.
Welcome!
Try ebay. I bought my dehydrator there for under $40. It has a temp
control, but no timer, that means I need to be home in 5 hours to turn the
thing off.
I wish I had an ostrich farm near me! You are very lucky. Find out if the
ostrich is fed their natural diet or are fed an artificial grain based diet.
Find out if they are free range or caged. This would make a big difference
in their fat profile and their protein to fat ratio.
Keep us posted on your progress.
