1.  GIG Needs You?

Many of you have written and requested that GIG do more lobbying for the
Celiac, DH and Gluten Intolerance Communities. In recent Years GIG has
achieved 3 times as much as larger organizations with ¼ the resources.

2.  What is GIG doing for you?

GIG is the only National organization lobbying for food allergen
labeling

GIG is the only National organization supporting those with DH through
membership in the Coalition of Patient

Advocates for Skin Disease Research and attendance at the American
Academy of Dermatology meetings

GIG is the only National organization with active educational programs
for medical and dietetic professionals. Example DIGID and regular
lectures at State, regional and local dietitian meetings, and an annual
Medical Professional Program for Health Care Professionals

GIG is currently working with the following organizations to increase
awareness and support for the CD, DH and Gluten Intolerance Communities:
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, American Diabetes Association,
American Dietetic Association, Celiac Disease Foundation, National
Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease (NIDDK), Center
for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), National Institute for
Arthritis, Musculoskeletal, and Skin Disorders (NIAMS) and Digestive
Disease National Coalition (DDNC).

The celiac community and members determine the activities we are
involved in. We listen and support your needs you tell us what you want.

3.  What can you do for GIG?

Strong Leadership, Volunteers and Member Financial Support is what
allows GIG to work for you.

GIG needs your Financial Support to continue success and support for the
Celiac, DH and Gluten Intolerance Communities. Support the National
Organization that is making a difference! Ask your Group Leaders to
Partner with GIG. Together we can make a difference.

Donate to GIG through United Way, Combined Federal Campaigns, direct
donations and employer matching funds.

4.  What is included in a GIG 1 Year Membership?

GIG new members receive:

GIG New Member Packet? Includes: GIG Newsletter, Bette Hagman Primer
brochure, dining tips, information on CD, DH and associated autoimmune
disorders, One Step, Complete GIG Diet Instruction, Manufacturer list,
recipes and more. (4) Issues of the GIG newsletter (4 issues per year)
