This is very good information, thank you. I guess I tend to think it
would be difficult to get enough calcium per day from vegetable and grain
sources and that is why I felt that a milk replacement was necessary.
(Also someone posted here a few months ago about their milk allergic child
getting their permament teeth in with discoloration, possibly due to
insufficent calcium intake, that scared me!) How valuable a source of
calcium are the calcium-enriched juices? Is it really the same as taking
a supplement? I of course would prefer to have my daughter get her
calcium from food sources rather than supplements. I would love to find a
nutritionist or dietician (sp?) with expertise in this area that could
help me with some guidelines for my family. Any suggestions?
