I would appreciate if some economist or someone with knowledge on economics can
help me out with the equation about the current exchange rate of the Danish
Kroner.
Below is a breakdown of what one can get for it in Gambia at the moment.

1. From the multi-lingual Currency Converter with up to date exchange rates
provided from leading market data contributors the exchange rate is:

Tuesday, December 23, 2003
1 Danish Krone = 5.06426 Gambian Dalasi
1 Gambian Dalasi (GMD) = 0.19746 Danish Krone (DKK)

Median price = 4.92843 / 5.06426 (bid/ask)
Estimated price based on daily US dollar rates.

2. Bayba Express sends 1.000 Danish Kroner for 4.650 Gambian Dalasi

3. First International Bank (GTB) in Gambia is exchanging 1.000 Danish Kroner
for 3.800 Dalasi (source Foroyaa No 94/2003  8-9 December 2003)

It seems there is a conspiracy some where.

The 1000 Dalasi question is that why is there such a big difference on what one
can get and who is gaining from the money we in Scandinavia are sending or
bringing down there? Is it Government, the Banks?


The Euro however has been stable because the exchange rate is almost the same
since september 2003 until now. It seems to pay off by exchanging your kroners
here into Euro before travelling or sending to the Gambia.
