EASI Webcast interview with Richard on creating Internet multimedia that is
accessible to surfers with disabilities:
http://easi.cc and select either webcast or site index.

The two hottest areas on the web may well be distance learning and
multimedia. Most content providers are rushing into both fields with
little or no thought to making them accessible for peoplewith disabilities.
By its nature, multimedia provides the potential of communicating through
more than one sensory mode making it an obvious tool to transcend
disabilities. However, frequently content does not take this in mind and
may take turns in deciding which sensory impaired group to shut out! EASI
has been providing accessible media now for years, and, with better tools,
we are doing more. Finally, we are putting together an online training
course, using media itself, to instruct media producers on how to create
media that can reach users in spite of their disabilities. The interview
touches on the access issues and solutions, and it describes the media
workshop scheduled for December 3 and runs for a month entirely online.

The webcast is audio with a transcription. To listen, you will need
RealPlayer.
