<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>>
Thank you everyone for all the input you have given me. This is the first
time that I have posted and obviously the first time I have replied. Please
be kind. I hope what I will summarize will be beneficial to those who asked
for any information that I have received. Here it goes:
People suggested:
• Good idea to omit dairy because itself can cause diarrhea
• Do what ever makes you feel comfortable (remove dairy, gluten, etc from
diet)
• Test through Dr. Fine's Enterolab. Many people suggested this. Which
I did go to Enterolab.com and researched it and I am strongly considering
this for myself and son.
• Blood tests are highly unreliable therefore test thru Enterolab.
• Read the book "Dangerous Grains". I already own it and have read it
several times. Great Book!
• Since son is not a "diagnosed Celiac, only have GF foods in house and
minimize gluten foods eaten outside of the house
• Have son tested for total IgA. If he is IgA deficient then it is
completely expected he would test negative for all other tests other than
gliadin IgG.
• Maybe he is gluten sensitive
• Try a gluten free diet for 2-3 months to see if child feels better
• Read transcript of Dr. Fine's discussion on gluten sensitivity at
www.finerhealth.com
• Be sure he has gotten his TTg (transglutinamase) and IgA
(Immunoglobulin Antigen) tests/
My plan for now is to keep him on the dairy free diet for the week as
suggested by GI, and note changes and report to Dr. in another week. After
talking with him, I will be putting my son on a gluten free diet thereafter.
I was going to do the GF diet now, but didn't want to do it the same time as
eliminating dairy foods.
Thanks again.
