I know what you mean.  I've been turning over in my head what I'd do if I was
laid-off or made redundant and couldn't find another job in North Carolina.
It'd be awfully difficult to start over in a brand-new location.  I've got
friends and relatives in a lot of places here in the US, Canada and the UK,
but I'd hate to leave all the friends I've made here in Winston-Salem.

    Today, Joyce was talking about staying here for a while longer. With my
new job, we can bring in enough to fly to Austin or Charlotte. I was
rear-ended last week end and met the claims adjuster today. He turns out to
be in my AA group. I would be real hard pressed to ever develop a network in
Austin like I have here in Memphis.
