USA Today has a story in today's paper about the .223 caliber bullets:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/dcovwed.htm

Apparently they're the type that can be used either for hunting or military
purposes; in either case if the bullet goes to the head or chest the victim
almost always dies, and it sounds as if the target doesn't have to be really
really precise.

And as expected, the killing yesterday has been tied to the sniper.
