I was using my IBM A21m laptop on my home network on 12/28. Everything was fine, no problems, OK shutdown (it does have Win 98.2). I put it away, nobody used it, but when I booted it up last night (new year's eve), it will not get on the home network. I unplugged the Linksys 4-port router and turned off the cable modem for a minute expecting everything to be OK when I turned them back on. Still can't get on the network, so I went to device manager and looked under adapters. The 3com NIC/Modem card that came with the laptop (and which has worked perfectly without fail for more than a year) was not there. It had also disappeared from Network properties. I have Goback, so I reverted my drive to a safe point on 12/28, but still no NIC/modem card. How can I restore the NIC/modem combo card?
