Hi everyone,
In preparation for building my first system I'm trying to get a holistic
view of how the various system components match up in terms of throughput.
Does anyone know of a source that, with some graphics preferably, depicts
the life cycle of a piece of data as it flows through a computer's
internals? Where does it have to wait, where does it get to speed along?
With this I hope to better match my component picks. This may be over
thinking the issue but it seems particular attention needs to be paid to FSB
speeds and hard disk transfer rates especially for things like video
editing. Intel's recent announcement of a 533 MHz FSB would seem to attack
the one choke point. Describe or direct me to the balanced system where
sub-systems are in synch as best as can be expected for an under $3000
system.
Thanks for your help, Steve.
