Alex,
I don't have kids, but I do have thoughts on this. I
agree that family peace is important, but I think
there are subtle ways that you can influence food
choices. Become more active in the cooking process.
For example, on a Saturday morning take everyone's
order for an omelette and fix breakfast. Also take an
active role in finding new recipes that you think
everyone will enjoy. Doing small things won't make it
seem like anything is being forced. As far as other
kids thinking your kid is weird, if you don't make an
issue out of what you eat or don't eat, no one will
notice.
I guess what I am saying is instead of simply talking
about it, DO something. If you are already taking an
active role in planning meals and cooking, great!
