This is substantially correct, in addition to carrying young children,
sometimes for miles each day. If you can find the excellent book, The
Paleolithic Prescription (1988) by Eaton, Shostak & Konner (now out of print
but possibly available from a library or second hand source) you will find
descriptions of the activities of paloelithic woman (and men) by authorities
in the field.
