This is an update to my problem with a USB board that would not install on
an older P166. The trouble turned out to be a video card conflict with the
USB board. I still don't understand why that should be, but the Diamond
Stealth 64 VRAM board caused the USB software to hang. By replacing the
board with a Diamond Stealth 64 DRAM, the problems went away. Installing the
software for the USB first had no effect on the lockup - it still locked up
as soon as the USB board was added. Just another example of how video
drivers interact (poorly) with other drivers!
