I to have just suffered corruption of my XP Home OS which I suspect us HID 
related. It started right after running scandisc. It was further compounded 
by running sfc.
It centers largely around OE6 so that I cannot connect to the Internet or 
download mail. I get password or 10061/11004 socket error messages.
At time I cannot even load my OS - not even in safe mode.
I am writing this on my second box running Red Hat 8.0 I must say I am pleased 
with this OS it has certainly saved my bacon and is neat to work with.
