G'day G'day Mary,

In New Zealand there are numerous Green-lipped mussel "farms". These are
rafts moored in secluded bays close to the open ocean. The water is regularly
tested. It is a tightly regulated industry. Apart from that they are wild. My
choice would be for farmed mussels as they are a quality product.

. If one buys mussels in the shell and steam them sometimes there is slight
beard to remove. Whatever. There is no de-veining and no bones to worry
about. If one buy mussel meat there is nothing to clean, it is all meat.
