Now, I might be wrong here correct me someone but, sorghum cane is something
of a poor, cold weather sugar cane.  It's actually grown in Africa also.
Molasses is made from sugar cane, made our colonies rich once they turned it
to rum.
Now I could get really fancy and look this up but, I've already have enough
research to do before Sunday.

Sorghum is ground from sugar. It usually is done by a mule going round a
cane
grinder and a human feeds cane into the grinder. I saw it once in
Mississippi.
