Ray,

The only thing I can think of is maybe she needs to cancel the 
chimes.wav she has in control panel and let OE use it's
default sound file.  I'm not sure what sound OE uses.   Maybe if she 
unchecks and then rechecks "play sound when new mail
arrives" it may set it back to default.  I'm not sure.  Just a thought.
