The first place I would check is the "Advanced" Tab for the email account to
make certain that the "Leave a copy of messages on server" checkbox is NOT
checked. To get to this checkbox do as follows:
1) From the main Outlook Express display <ALT>+T or simply go to the Tools
pull down menu.
2) Arrow down (or up) to the "Accounts" item and hit <RETURN>, this places
you in the list of email accounts although there is probably only one any
way.
3) If necessary, first select the appropriate account; tab to and select
the "Properties" button; this places you in another multi-page dialog box.
4) Go to the "Advanced" Tab and find the checkbox with the text "Leave a
copy of messages on server" and make sure it is NOT checked.
5) Then with a series of "OK" buttons back out of the path you followed to
get to this point.
The problem with this setting is that if you delete messages from your InBox
and ultimately from your "Deleted" folder Outlook Express will go back to
the server and download those messages all over again making it seem as
though they were never deleted at all.
