Anthony,

To send a shortcut to the desktop for your favorite application:
1. From the desktop, open the Start Menu then choose Programs
2. Navigate through the Programs menu until you get to the shortcut you want
3. Press the context menu key (located next to the right control key)
4. Down arrow through the applications menu to "Send to" and press Enter, then down arrow to "desktop (create shortcut)" and press Enter.

That's it. You should now be able to find the shortcut on the desktop.

Subject: Getting Programs onto the Desktop

I have just purchased a new DEL PC with Windows XP. The usual MS suite
programs (Word, Excel, etc.) are not on the desktop. How do I get them
there? XP behaves differently than W98 and W2000.

Tony
