Just to add to Kelly's comments on scanners - I bought a new model
Hewitt-Packard scanner before deciding to get Open Book software. While H-P
has long been standard for use by the blind the newest models do not work
with Open Book (or, I have been told, with Kurtzwell.) I've switched to an
Epson scanner. It might be a good idea to check with the software company
to make sure the software you plan to use will work with the scanner you
select before making the purchase.
