Hmmm. One might have also said this about our mostly vegetarian ancestors a
few million years ago, who did eventually adapt to a predominately meat
diet. Pretty big shift there.

I might agree with you if the population had stabilized or was decreasing.
But, that doesn't seem to be the case.....
