As Gambia's overnight millionaire, Yahya Jammeh betrayed the Decrees or
Constitution he swore to upheld. The insulting case of YDE, should spark Gambians
to start impeachment demonstrations across the country, thereby forcing AFPRC
MP's to follow the masses. If the masses are organized, leaders will follow.

LONDON (March 12) - South Korea's parliament impeached President Roh Moo-hyun
Friday, suspending him from office.
Here are some leaders who have faced impeachment proceedings:
Aug 1974 - U.S. President Richard Nixon resigns rather than face impeachment
for his role in the cover-up of the break-in at Democratic party headquarters
in the Watergate office complex.
Dec 1992 - Brazil's suspended President Fernando Collor resigns from office
minutes after the Senate opened a trial to vote on whether to impeach and
remove him from office on corruption charges.
Dec 1998 - The House of Representatives impeaches U.S. President Bill
Clinton, setting the stage for only the second Senate trial in American history to
determine if a president should be removed from office. Clinton survives the
trial.
March 1999 - Paraguay's President Raul Cubas is impeached by Congress for
freeing a convicted coup leader and is blamed for the killing of his Vice
President Luis Maria Argana. He resigns before Congress can remove him from office.
May 1999 - Russian President Boris Yeltsin escapes impeachment on five
charges of misrule after his opponents fail to muster enough votes to start
proceedings.
Nov 2000 - Philippine President Joseph Estrada is impeached on corruption
charges. The allegations sparked a popular revolt in January 2001 which ended his
31-month rule. Estrada was detained in April 2001. His trial is tangled in
red tape.
Feb 2003 - Paraguay's Senate votes not to remove scandal-dogged President
Luis Gonzalez Macchi from office, finding the deeply unpopular leader not guilty
of corruption charges.
Dec 2003 - Lithuania's parliament approves a report paving the way for the
impeachment of President Rolandas Paksas over accusations that he broke the law
and violated his oath of office. The process will probably finish in the month
before Lithuania's scheduled May 1 entry to the European Union.
March 2004 - 193 members of the 273-seat South Korean National Assembly vote
to unseat President Roh Moo-hyun. All Roh's powers are in limbo until the
Constitutional Court rules on the vote, which the opposition called after he broke
an election law.

The movement against Roh's impeachment has found support not only among his
political backers but also from civic groups that have criticized alleged
corruption in Roh's administration, his decision to send troops to Iraq and his
recent tussle with authorities over illegal campaign funds ahead of next month's
parliamentary elections.
Trying to quell concerns of a national division over the impeachment, the Uri
Party vowed not to organize or lead any street protests that could further
fuel political unrest.
"This incident is clearly unconstitutional and illegal, but we will not stage
any street demonstrations,'' Chung Dong-young told business leaders Sunday.
Chung also urged the Constitutional Court to issue a swift ruling.
The Grand National and Millennium Democratic parties impeached Roh for
allegedly breaking election laws by stumping for the Uri Party in the upcoming April
15 parliamentary poll. Roh doesn't belong to the Uri party but has said he
wants to join.
