Ams, thanks for this forward. It has been almost two weeks since Juwara has
been in custody and to date, what have we (all who been calling the
opposition to protest the conditions) done for his bail or helping his
family? We are still in the discussion mode, I see. Anyway, each with
their conscience.
Thanks to Chris Sukuna and Dr. Abdoulaye Saine for sending in their money
($50m and $25, respectively) for either the legal defense of Waa or
providing needed help to his dependants. I am contributing $100 to this
effort. I am appealing to folks that are in support for the release of Waa
and helping his dependants to contribute to this fund raising venture.
Since none has volunteered to collect the funds I will, so please send your
contributions to Joe Sambou, 8046 S. Kimbark Ave., Chicago, IL 60619. Folks
we cannot delay. Thanks for your cooperation.
Chi Jaama

>Juwara's Bail Request Refused
>by Omar Bah – Daily Observer

>The high court presided over by Justice Ahmed Belgore on Friday dismissed a
>bail application seeking the release of NDAM leader, Lamin Waa Juwara.
>
>The application which was filed by Foday Gassama, the secretary general of
>NDAM youth movement, was heard in chambers. There was stiff argument
>between
>Juwara's lawyer, Borry Touray, and state counsel Emmanuel Fagbenle, on
>whether
>Mr Gassama, who is not a member of Juwara's family, could legally apply for

>Justice Belgore held that Mr Gassama does not have the standing in law to
>file the motion for Juwara's bail because he is not a member of Juwara's

>A crowd of supporters and family members of Mr Juwara led by PPP leader,
>Omar
