For a STATE that is 1/4 the population of NYC, and the size of most larger
US cities, corruption and inside deals are the norm in RI.  And I thought
having a name that ends in a vowel would get me in the circuit, but
apparently there is a "born and bred" mentality that will take a generation
to infiltrate.

"Free Buddy".  That is a common saying for our most infamous corruptor, that
was mayor, jailed for sticking a cigar in someone's nuts(pre Bill Clinton),
mayor again, and finally jailed for the mobster tag rico conspiracy.  And
people would still vote for him again.  The man could sweet talk an eskimo
out of a parka.
