Hello Everyone,

As many on the list may know from past postings, I currently have a Kenwood
TS-2000 which I love very much. I initially bought the radio for its level
of accessibility. I especially enjoy the receiver in it but, in all
honesty, I find the DSP noise reduction functions less than useful and
nowhere near as effective as my Clear Speech audio dsp unit. I also don't
use the satellite functions at all and although I am currently using the sub
section to monitor my favorite 2 meter and 70 centimeter frequencies, I
would rather have a separate radio for these purposes. The thought has
crossed my mind that I might have more radio than I need and that if I were
to use something with less features and lower cost, I might be able to make
some other changes I would like to make in the station.

With this in mind, I would like to ask if anyone on this list has used both
the TS-2000 and the
TS-570SG? If you have, what did you find in terms of the effectiveness and
comfort level of the noise reduction dsp systems in the two rigs? What
about the auto notch capability of each compared to the other. Does the 570
have a manual notch filter as well? How did the two receivers compare with
no dsp in terms of audio, noise floor and so on? Does the 570 have
capability for an external receive antenna? Any other comparisons you might
give me that might help me with my considerations?

I really do appreciate any feedback I might get on this. Although I can
read reviews all day, there is nothing like the opinion of a discerning ham
who has used both. As I said in the beginning I really like my 2000 but
these questions keep going through my mind and I would like to put them to
rest.

Thanks and very 73.
Kevin, K7RX
