Hi everyone. Today I did my demonstration on the general skills of
blindness with the Braille and Keynote Companion and everything like that,
but what was a big hit was IRLP! There were three fourth grade classes, and
instead of math class it was learning about blindness and ham radio. I had
the most luck on node 9250 and the kids enjoyed talking to people in Alaska
and Hawaii. Only one person so far has showed interest in getting a
license, and I gave my uncle the URL for the ARRL, so we will have to see
where this goes, but as I said IRLP was a big hit, especially with one child
who is boarderlined autistic. There is another name for his condition, but
it escapes me now, but I just thought I would let you all know that it went
well, and thanks for the suggestions.
