I've used rg8 for years.  I first started using it on cb equipment a very long
time ago.  I've never had any problems with it although I do have connections
covered with a rubber boot etc. to keep out water.  I've never had water
problems even when I get squirrels climbing around on it.  Have also used it for
receiver antenas with very good luck.
