I have an old external parallel Echo GP and it generates an extreme amount of
noise in radio equipment. I have a serial Echo GP external and while it
generates a little noise if equipment is close to it, I generally have more
trouble with the computer itself.

Now that I think of it, an Echo PC that I have somewhere doesn't generate much
noise. It does well enough that I use it in a speech science lab from time to
time even though its speech is pretty horrible. It is also external.

Tom
