Hello, all.

When I use my Kenwood THF6A as a fixed base rig, I run it with one of those
12-volt 2.5 amp regulated power supplies from Radio Shack. Does anyone know
if doing this on a long term basis could ultimately damage the li-ion
battery pack from over-charging? I have noticed that when I take the power
supply plug out of the DC power jack on the rig, the rig reverts to battery
power. This leads me to believe that when you are using another power
source, it disables the battery circuitry. Am I correct here?

I can't find any reference to this situation in the manual. The manual does
say that if you turn the rig off, and leave the power source on, charging
will be initiated. But, I never do this. When the rig is off, I turn the
power supply off as well.

Hope my question is clear.

Any suggestions, or references to the manual that I have missed would be
appreciated.

Thanks much, and happy holidays.
