For those interested in making their voices heard with regard to
braille, I am forwarding this message from BANA:

April 2005
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT: Kim Charlson, Chairperson
Braille Authority of North America (BANA)
PHONE: 1-617-972-7249

BANA Co-sponsors Reader's Forum with NBA and Holds Spring Meeting

The Braille Authority of North America (BANA) will hold its spring
meeting in Dallas, Texas from April 16-19, 2005 immediately following
the Professional Development Conference and 60th Anniversary
Celebration of the National Braille Association, Inc. Over the course
of four days, the activities of BANA will include:

Saturday, April 16, 2005 - 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM
BANA/NBA Open Forum -- Braille Readers Speak Out
Marriott Quorum by the Galleria
14901 Dallas Parkway
Dallas, TX 75254
1-972-661-2800

The Braille Authority of North America and the National Braille
Association are cosponsoring this forum because we want to hear from
braille readers (of all ages), educators, transcribers, proofreaders
and parents regarding their thoughts about braille. There will be plenty
of opportunity for participants to provide feedback on such topics as
ideas about formats and layout for braille readability; print and
braille page numbering; and several other topics on which input is being
sought. We are also asking the question, "If you could change one thing
about braille, what would it be?" Don't miss this opportunity to give
your opinions on braille by attending this Open Forum. To reserve your
spot at the Forum and to help ensure accurate counts for handouts,
contact Eileen Curran at National Braille Press at 888-965-8965 x17 or
e-mail
