POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT



ASSISTIVE DEVICES SPECIALIST





The Wisconsin council of the Blind serves individuals throughout the
state who are blind or visually impaired. The council is seeking an
individual who is self- motivated, knowledgeable in the field of
blindness and has good interpersonal skills. This is a full time
position.



Job Duties

Under the general supervision of the executive director the successful
candidate will sell assistive devices to individuals who are blind or
visually impaired.  Be able to research and keep current on new products
that will benefit individuals that are blind or have significant vision
loss. Establish selling prices under Council policy. Process purchase
orders for assistive devices, oversee shipments to clients in Wisconsin.
Work with other professionals in the field of vision that are working on
behalf of or with individuals who are blind or visually impaired.



Job knowledge, skills and Abilities

The successful candidate will possess good oral and written
communication skills.  Good interpersonal skills with the ability to
relate well to people on the phone or in person. Knowledge of assistive
devices relevant to blindness and visual impairments. Knowledge and
experience in monitoring and maintaining sufficient inventory levels.
Strong computer skills are a must including experience with spreadsheets
and databases.  Knowledge of QuickBooks a plus.



Compensation

A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered based on
experience.
