Ah, however if no hormones survived stomach acids, the oral
contraceptive would be ineffective.

Cattle in the US are routinely implanted with slow-release estrogen
capsules. Of course the industry says the effects on the meat
composition is insignificant, but then cigarette companies until
recently denied any relationship between their product and cancer.
